Unexplored Places To Visit In Leh Ladakh For A Memorable Trip

Often, famous sites across the world are known for individual areas. Most of the time there is more such locations to visit in the city. Ladakh is a prime example of this. Yes, I know that visuals of Ladakh, the lake featured in the movie 3 Idiots, and Khardung La would have flashed through your head.

This is precisely the source of the problem. Everyone who travels Leh-Ladakh wants to take a photo at Pangong Lake and the highest motorable road in India, the Kardung La pass, as well as visit Namgyal Monestry and ride a motorcycle to the Kardung La pass and Magnetic Hill. However, Leh-Ladakh is much more than these well-known tourist spots.

There are a few villages that few tourists have heard of. You must enjoy these beautiful unexplored places to visit in Leh Ladakh. For visiting these places, you can book the Leh Ladakh tour packages offered by Lock Your Trip. The genuine beauty of the Ladakh area can be found in these places. In this blog, we will talk about a few unexplored places to visit in Leh Ladakh.

Zanskar Valley

It would not be incorrect to claim that the Zanskar Valley is the ideal spot in Ladakh for adventure seekers. If you enjoy being splashed with water as well as speed, then rafting on the Zanskar River is for you. The rafting route from Remala to the river’s confluence with the Indus in Nimmoo is more than 155 kilometres long. You’d ride high-speed rapids and whitewater, fall quickly, get wet in freezing water, and pass through valleys.

The valley appears to be a separate universe between the barren and snowy mountains, and it is so colourful and verdant in summer that you will forget you are in Ladakh for a while. The Zanskar River freezes in December and January, providing the ideal opportunity to travel on the frozen river, also known as the Chadar Trek. It is regarded as one of India’s most difficult treks.

Turtuk

Many of you have obviously heard of Malana, a Himachal Pradesh village near the party town of Kasol. Tourists have been drawn in by stories about how people there look nothing like Indians, and the rumours are all true. The same item can be found in Turtuk, one of the few villages before the Line of Control. The folks here are pink and white, and they appear to be from Iran or somewhere like that. This is because they are of Balti heritage, and they are here since Turtuk is in the Balti area, which is mostly in Pakistan and is known as Baltistan.

Basgo

Basgo is roughly 36 kilometres from Leh. It was a prosperous town that also functioned as the local capital in its time. There is now nothing left of it but a monastery and an ancient royal palace, both of which are mostly in ruins. The structures are situated on such steep and high slopes that just looking at them will leave you amazed.  However, these are not truly difficult, and you can simply visit both of these locations.

The monastery is made up of three main temples, all of which are devoted to Maitreya, the Buddha of the Future. It is decorated with copper sculptures and wall paintings representing stories from Lord Buddha’s life, as are other Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh. Because of its colour resemblance to the mountains, the palace may be difficult to see from a distance. Both the palace and the monastery provide breathtaking views of the deserted town below and the neighbouring surroundings.

Panamik

Panamik, one of the Nubra Valley’s tiny villages, lies about 55 kilometres from the town of Diskit. This town is remarkable in that, it has a hot sulphur spring, which contrasts sharply with the brain cold Siachen Glacier, which lies a few kilometres ahead. Panamik is the final settlement in the Nubra Valley that you may visit because civilians are not permitted on the glacier for obvious reasons. So, you may have plenty of time to spend in the town, and I recommend that you avail the use of this chance to soak in the hot springs. According to popular belief, they contain therapeutic characteristics capable of healing a variety of diseases.

Chumathang

Whether you’re on a road trip in Ladakh or just sightseeing in general, you’ll need a break. You might get altitude sickness and exhaust faster than usual here. As a result, you will feel the desire to unwind, something you should never ignore. The hot springs at Chumathang are one of the best places in Ladakh to relax. These are natural lakes on the banks of the Indus River where hot, sulphur-laden water surges up. The water may even be seen gently snaking its way into the fast-flowing river. You may simply sit in one of the pools and forget about your problems. If you’ve been hiking in the area, these hot springs will be very calming.

Leh Ladakh is considerably more than just visiting prominent tourist attractions. It’s all about meeting the people and immersing yourself in their culture and traditions. All of the villages listed are accessible by road from Leh and should be visited. Ladakh really is the region that never ceases to amaze. It has so much beauty buried in every turn, every road, and you’ll certainly spend a lifetime marvelling at Ladakh’s bliss. Go on an adventure trip to Ladakh and enjoy the list of unexplored places to visit in Leh Ladakh. Book the Leh Ladakh tour package to enjoy these places.
