There are generally three ways to install a screen, although special cases exist. First of all, wall or facade installations. This is the simplest method of fixing which requires the fewest additional structures.
However, it is dependent on a well-exposed wall but is also able to support the weight of a screen. Finally, this surface will also depend on the wall surface available and, outdoors, in line with the regulations for the sign.
The second type of installation is on a mast or a totem, like billboards. These installations are therefore dependent on the production of the laying structures. In addition, these installations generally require special arrangements to power the SMD Screens and connect it.
These elements will therefore also have an impact on the final invoice. In addition, these facilities also depend on regulatory points, particularly in terms of surfaces.
Finally, there are also window installations. They are rarer but no less interesting. These installations make it possible to take advantage of a glazed surface. Above all, they make communication with the outside possible without the constraints of this environment. Likewise, they are not covered by local signs or advertising taxes.
However, the screens in the window depending on the surface of this one. Depending on the trade, it is then not possible to make a large-format screen there. We could also have mentioned the case of suspended installations, but these are rarer.
SET SCREEN LOCATION
Several factors will therefore influence the choice of the location of the communication screen. The different points to be defined can be done chronologically. First of all, the choice between interior and exterior will essentially depend on the communication objective.
Then, the other elements will initially depend on the search for the best ratio between volumes of passers-by and the quality of the visibility of the screen. Finally, other criteria will come into play, in particular the budget, municipal authorizations, and environmental constraints. After reviewing all these elements, the possible options will probably be very limited or the choice stopped.
However, if doubts remain or if you need advice, our teams can help you with your project. As a giant screen manufacturer and dynamic display specialist, we will be able to define the best option according to your communication criteria.
ADVERTISING VEHICLE, WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN NOT DO
The notion of an advertising vehicle and its possible use of it is rather vague. Indeed, we can see certain things internationally and these will not necessarily be applicable in France. Faced with this lack of knowledge of the regulations, some companies sometimes use mobile advertising that does not comply with the various measures governing this use.
When we walk in the streets of New York or Tokyo, we may come across a truck covered with a screen and loudspeaker broadcasting advertisements. But in France, it’s different. Indeed, various regulations have come to regulate the use of mobile advertising and advertising vehicles.
ADVERTISING VEHICLE, WHAT THE TEXTS SAY
The regulation of outdoor advertising defines an advertising vehicle as any vehicle used primarily for advertising or pre-branding purposes. That is to say, vehicles that have no other use than the support of their messages. It is thus distinguished from company vehicles whose function is linked to the movements of its user. The elements of this article, therefore, do not concern them.
Article R581-48 of the Environment Code authorizes the advertising use of land vehicles under certain conditions. The total display must not exceed 12 m². These vehicles may not stay or park in spaces located on the public highway.
On the other hand, they can drive on it, but at the regulation speed. Convoys of several vehicles are prohibited. They can park on private land (store parking lot for example) insofar as the display does not disturb the public road. Finally, certain exemptions are possible at the discretion of the local police authority, during demonstrations for example.
CASE OF ON-VEHICLE ADVERTISING SCREENS
Regarding digital advertising on vehicles, the regulations are quite clear on this subject. Illuminated advertising is prohibited on the advertising vehicle. It is therefore not possible to install a screen on an advertising vehicle and drive it on the road. However, like the standard display, there are exceptions for specific events. Moreover, as mentioned above, these regulations concern advertising vehicles.
Therefore, there are exceptional cases where advertising on a truck is possible. Let’s take the example of our dealer Business Event Partner and his Truck video. The video track is a van with an integrated screen, available for rental for event animation.
This is therefore its main function. In this context, it could be rented and used to advertise a sign while remaining parked on private land. Similarly, he was able to benefit from a special exemption during the 2020 holidays to promote local merchants.
IN FRANCE A STRICTER USE OF VEHICLE ADVERTISING
By studying the texts, we, therefore, understand that it is difficult to transpose in France advertising solutions that can be seen in other countries. At least at present. Indeed, several years ago, any use of a vehicle for essentially advertising purposes was prohibited.
As proof, there are derogations allowing under certain conditions to circumvent the regulations. This is all the more true for the use of on-vehicle advertising screens. It is unlikely to see advertising screen trucks parading in the streets. However, there are solutions, in particular for occasional broadcasting, allowing the use of a mobile screen.
The most important thing is to do it in agreement with the authorities. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
NEW IN THE WINLIGHT NETWORK
This year 2021, therefore, begins with good news. Indeed, a new team joins our network of Winlight dealers. Mr. Sébastien Huet and his associates will now represent us on Reunion Island.
It is a team with a diversified profile that complements each other perfectly to answer the various questions related to the sale of giant screens. Dynamic and motivated, we have full confidence in Mr. Huet to develop in this sector in addition to his other activity. We also wish it rapid and prosperous development. Reunionese friends, do not hesitate to turn to him and contact him.
