As flights could be the majority of the cost of your trip So, finding the best deal is just as crucial as finding the ideal location, the appropriate travel agency, the appropriate backpack, or even the best accommodation. In the end, if the cost of a flight is prohibitive, it’s not going to be cheap. And today, I’m going to guide you on the art of finding a low-cost flight. This is the same procedure that I use. If you follow these steps too, then you won’t be the passenger on a plane that paid the highest price for their tickets!
It is important to understand that there are a variety of reasons that make flights expensive. The bankruptcy process has meant that airlines, who are in a position of pressure to make profits, aren’t able cut fares as drastic as they would like, and competition is less favorable which gives the airlines less incentive to reduce fares. Furthermore, as airlines have reduced the number of routes they offer and their capacity they’re flying with full planes. A fuller aircraft also means less incentive to lower prices. Even though oil prices have dropped dramatically and airlines have no plans to reduce fares because for the first ever in a long period of time they’re earning money and don’t intend to stop! However, that doesn’t mean the odds are stacked against you. Every day, airlines have hundreds of amazing deals ranging from erroneously advertised cheap fares, to regular bargains to reduce prices in order to compete with another airline. Cheaper fares are available If you know where to locate them.

Everyone tries to find the lowest cost online or wait too long (or make a reservation too late) and end up paying excessively. We’ve all seen that prices for flights vary constantly, but in the effort to keep our prices one more day, many of us don’t get the best cost. So, it’s crucial to understand what you’d like to pay and not the price you’d like to pay. What is the cheapest price you can afford? What is the price you are at ease with? Don’t sit around for the ideal price. Instead, wait for YOUR price. Be realistic as well. If the lowest price you can find will be $1,000 on a trip and the average price is $1500 Don’t sit and wait for $900 as it’s unlikely to be that low. There’s no need to worry about regrets when you have found an amount you’re at ease with. There are no two passengers flying together will pay the same amount and all you have to do is try to receive a price that you are happy with.
Prices for airline tickets will continue rising, but there’s an ideal time when airlines start to lower or raise fares according to the demand. Don’t delay until the very last minute, but don’t reserve too early either. The most ideal, booking time is between 6 and 8 weeks prior to your departure date, or three months in advance if you plan to travel in peak season.
Finding a low-cost flight is all about having the flexibility and experience about the places you go, when you travel, and how you reach your destination. Use the advice above, but don’t spend the time searching for a low-cost flight. If you’re spending over an hour, reserving a flight, you’re probably wasting time. I do not second-guess myself about flights. You’ll go crazy if you do. Spend 30 to 40 minutes searching for and booking a flight at a cost you’re comfortable paying, and continue on with your journey.
