Engineering Pathway to Australia PR

We’ve explained the steps required in applying for a permanent resident visa in Australia for engineers who want to migrate and work there as skilled migrants.

Engineers Australia Skill Assessment

A skill assessment is required before you can apply for a permanent residency visa. Engineers Australia is the assessment authority for engineers (EA). Depending on your certification, EA provides multiple skill assessment pathways. Let’s discuss different pathways to migrating to Australia.

Engineers Australia has accepted the qualification.

Some courses in Australia and overseas are approved by EA. They already determined that these courses met the educational qualifications for becoming a professional engineer in Australia. The majority of approved courses are taught in Australia, but some are taught in other countries, such as Malaysia or Singapore. If you have completed an accredited course, choose the Australian Qualification Pathway when applying for the skills exam.

Sydney Accord: The Sydney Accord permits Australia to accept globally recognized credentials from other signatories. Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Ireland, Korea, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Malaysia are all signatories to the Sydney Accord. A qualification equal to an Australian 3 year Bachelor of Technology degree in engineering is the minimum academic qualification for the Sydney Accord track. When applying for the skills assessment, select the Sydney Accord Pathway if you have completed an accredited course under the Sydney Accord. 

Washington Accord: Australia can accept certified qualifications from other members thanks to the Washington Accord. Korea, Russia, Malaysia, China, India, and Sri Lanka are all signatories to the Washington Accord. To be qualified, the qualification must be acknowledged by the signatory country’s representative body and must be equal to an Australian four-year bachelor’s degree. 

Dublin Accord: Australia accepts certified qualifications given by other Dublin Accord signatories. The complete list of signatures can be found here. As a result, if you have earned a qualification recognised by the Dublin Accord signatories, you can apply for skills evaluation through the Dublin Accord pathway.

Non-accredited qualification 

If none of the options above apply, you must apply for a skill assessment using the Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) method. Preparing a report, which must include the following information, is a requirement of the CDR report writing process. • Continuing Professional Development

It must demonstrate how you have stayed updated with advancements in your field of engineering after graduation.

• 3 career episodes

Your engineering education and/or professional experience are highlighted in the career episodes. Each episode should concentrate on a different aspect of your technical profession or a different period of time. The Career episode engineers Australia should be written with EA guidelines.

• Summary statement 

There are competency units and aspects that must be met in order to be assessed as an engineer. The summary statement can be used to demonstrate how your experience satisfies these criteria.
