Delta Airlines Boarding Priority Policy

Starting with the new Delta Boarding Priority for its most popular fares, Delta will board passengers by zone instead of by row. The reason for this is to save overhead bin space for premium passengers.

First to board will be customers who require special assistance, including active-duty military, Diamond medallion status, and Sky Priority members.

Next will be basic economy travellers, branded fare customers, and passengers. However, basic economy travellers will still have to gate check their carry-on bags.

The boarding priority for Delta flights is different from that of other airlines, and elite and military members are not prioritized. The process of boarding prior to pre-boarding is different in Delta Air Lines.

It is easy to follow due to the unique branding terms and colour scheme. Usually, you will have to check-in at least 30 minutes before departure for international flights and 60 minutes or more before departure for domestic flights.

There are also other categories of passengers. Diamond Medallion members and Gold Medallion members will be the first to board, while those in Silver Medallion status will be last in line.

You’ll need to check in at least 30 minutes before the flight, and you’ll be able to board during pre-boarding. But before you board, make sure to check-in, and don’t forget your baggage receipts.
