Where did the concept of your future career get its inspiration from?

I was impressed by my cousin Joey. Joey has been someone I’ve looked up to all the time it’s possible to remember. His passion and drive helped motivate me to strive to the sky.

Joey was an exceptional baseball player, and was on track to be drafted into Major League Baseball . In the evening, while his car was returning home, his tire slowed and his car rolled. The roof of his truck shattered leaving him paralyzed. Joey’s accident could have been avoided had the tire maker made the tire in a proper manner.

It was in that moment when I realized that I wanted to become an advocate for those who suffer from accidents like Joey. Today I am passionate about making big corporations accountable for their conduct and making sure that incidents like Joey’s not happen to other people.

I believe that through dedication, everything gets better. I would also tell the younger me continue thinking about it, and never quit. External circumstances are not the only factor that determines the strength of your internal drive. I also would tell myself that it’s fine to be different than other people. What other people have done didn’t work for them. There are plenty of opportunities for all, you just need to work hard to turn your dreams into real.

I’d need to put aside my biggest mistake as an entrepreneur related to a digital marketing company that I established early in my professional career. I was unaware of how challenging it would be to get the business up and running, but I was successful in overcoming this setback through bringing the lessons learned from that experience into my legal practice.

I think everyone should take the time to read Rich Dad Poor Dad, written by Robert Kiyosaki in 1997. It’s among the most valuable books on personal finance ever written, with lessons for all. This book will help you realize that you have options in your life. It also teaches you that learning doesn’t stop once you’ve graduated from school.

What is your most cherished quote?
