Prior to filling the CAT application form, you must remember certain important things:
- Firstly, you must go through the instructions provided at the beginning of the application.
- Secondly, your application will be valid only if you fill in the correct details. In case of any incorrect or misleading information, your registration will be cancelled, and CAT exam fee forfeited.
- During registration, you are required to indicate your preferred management programmed/ B-schools.
- You also have the choice of six preferred test cities, where the CAT centres will be located.
- You do not have to fill the CAT application form in one go. But, make sure that you have saved the filled part every time before exiting.
- Finally, you have to submit the online form after making the payment. Without the fee payment, your candidature will not be taken into account.
CAT 2022 registrations stay open for nearly 45 days from the start of registration.
Documents Required for CAT 2022 Registration:

- Class 10th and 12thmarksheets
- Certificate of Bachelor’s degree or diploma, and higher education (if applicable).
- Work experience certificate, if any
- Scanned passport size photo and signature. (Your photo should have a white background and not be over six months old).Both the images should be in .jpeg or .jpg format. Required dimensions of scanned passport size photograph: 35mm X 45mm, scanned image of signature: 1000mm X 35 mm. The size of either file should not exceed 80KB each and should have a resolution of atleast150px.
Additional certificates, as applicable, should also be uploaded before form submission.
CAT Registration 2022: Stepwise Procedure
Given below are the detailed steps to fill your CAT application form 2022:
- At the official website (iimcat.ac.in), choose ‘Register Now’ to generate your login info.
- Fill in the requisite details (name, DOB, email ID, contact number) in the online form. Keep the following things in mind while proving these details:
- The name you mention must be the same as in your class 10th/ SSC Certificate. In case of the name change, you must submit a related valid document.
- You will need to enter your date of birth via a virtual calendar.
- The email id you provide, must be a valid one. All the exam-related information is sent to your email address. In the case of overseas candidates, both the user ID and password are sent via email. The same goes for the mobile number you provide.
- Once you have filled in the details, you will be asked to enter the captcha number given on the screen. This will authenticate your registration.
Your will get your login details via email and SMS.
- The next step is to login at the official website and complete the CAT application form. All the mandatory ‘*’ marked fields have to be filled.
- You will need to select ‘Save & Continue’ every time before proceeding to the next section of the form. Avoid using ‘Tab’ key for navigating to the next field.
- Upload the required scanned images and documents and make the online payment.
